Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the sole celebrity who crossed from country into the mainstream, and to become a pop icon worldwide. Swift removed her roots in the country like they were a second skin to reveal that she was perhaps the savviest pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, one who could harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and just as impressively perform opposite. These skills were evident on her first hits, particularly the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering her true identity and in the process, finding an audience of mass. The album was a huge success, not just in America, but also with six platinum-certified songs. Its Top Ten songs Love Story & You Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. It also performed well all over the world. Swift's new album, Speak Now, released almost two years after the previous one, built on this success. The album propelled Swift into the spotlight. The next three years, her fame grew with the release of three albums -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as she moved into a arena of pop with her skills already well established. It was not long before she altered her plan in 2020's more streamlined siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
