Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist television host, and proprietor of the online, independent newspaper The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece and moved to England in the year sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA at the level of economics. It was her first time as a student of non-UK origin to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. After graduation she made her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist and when the publication of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created an online voice platform that provided critical views on the political scenario. Her status as a celebrity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to stand as an independent presidential candidate during the California recall election, to take over the then governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of a Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th spot on the ranking. In the same year Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as head of its media division and also owned other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. Konstantinos was a business consultant as well as a journalist. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother that formed her life. Even in her early childhood she displayed leadership abilities for which she has gained a reputation. She moved to England at sixteen to further her studies and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge.
