Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is a Canadian actress from Canada. Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand-born actress. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington the city where she was born, she made her first acting appearance on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded her the Academy Award for best support actress. Her performance as the enthusiastic and lively young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the prize. She had little prior experience in acting. When she was a teenager, her family moved from Canada to the United States. Paquin had a small part as the title character when she was still a kid on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) as well as A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
