Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actress as well as a producer, director and playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's dad is from Britain, as is her mother is a Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother work at play rehearsals. Her appearances in commercials were numerous in her early years. Anna relocated to Toronto in November of 1999, to pursue her acting talents.
