
Suzanne Pleshette was an American voice actress, actress, and film actor. She lived from January 31, 1937 to January 19, 2008. 1 Pleshette began her acting career in the theatre and was first seen in films in the late 1950s. She then was featured in films of note like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). She was later seen in several television productions, often as guest actors, and was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978. She received a number of Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was born on the 31st of January, 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1 and Eugene Pleshette. The parents of the couple were Jewish and descendants of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was a stage manager at both the Paramount Theater as well as the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
